The History of Pink…
When I moved to this wonderful 1901 Pink house back in 2002, I lived and worked here (as a mediator) and rented out the unfurnished apartments for long term rentals, for a year or more.
I met so many wonderful people – many are friends to this day!
Interestingly, as I traveled around the world (pre-Airbnb!) I found myself staying in small family owned pensions, B&Bs, communal houses with shared kitchens and living rooms, and extra rooms in private homes.
I wondered what would happen if I furnished my first apartment here in Boise. Would others appreciate living in a warm cozy furnished apartment above my garage for a shorter term of 1 – 6 months? Well, the answer was a resounding YES!
So I slowly started furnishing all of my apartments, one by one, up-cycling used furniture, pictures and slowly buying new beds, mattresses, TVs, etc. It truly has been a journey of passion and creativity! Come to find out, comfortable, Airbnb’s and furnished apartments in downtown Boise, were really needed!

More and more people were contacting me needing short term cozy furnished housing. Whether they were discovering Boise; taking short term work projects here; starting new careers, in between selling and buying a home; or in a living transition…
They wanted the feel and security of their own place, without the constraints of long term rental agreements. AND, I think we have all appreciated living in such an amazing location close to downtown, while having awesome neighbors close by.
What I’ve noticed is, YOU, our guest, are friendly and kind. You are independent. Open. Mindful. Curious… and most likely an adventurer at heart!
This has and continues to be a beautiful fit for ALL of us, and thus The Pink Guest House became what it is today…
We are a home away from home, a comfortable place to live as a transition or an extended stay.
